Lora Okreša: potential that grows with support

26 July 2026

Potential does not grow on its own. It needs opportunity, support and an environment that recognises it.

Lora Okreša was born prematurely as one of triplets, weighing just over one kilogram. She spent her first months in hospital, and from the beginning it was clear that her development would require continuous, accessible and long-term support.

Lora's progress is the result of professional therapies, an inclusive environment and a family that remained consistent through everyday challenges. Her mother played a particularly important role, making sure Lora received opportunities that are often not systematically available—from therapy to activities that encourage development and inclusion.

One of those activities was therapeutic riding. Over time, it became more than therapy: it became a space where Lora built confidence.

Today, Lora climbs, plays volleyball, runs regularly and rides a bicycle. Through activities that demand coordination, strength and perseverance, she develops physical abilities as well as a sense of belonging and self-worth.

Lora completed secondary school as an excellent student. During her education, she completed practical training and developed an interest in floristry, where she finds space for expression and creativity. She is sociable, curious and ready to learn, although her environment does not always recognise her abilities.

Her story shows what happens when a child with developmental challenges receives continuous family, professional and community support. Investment in early intervention, accessible therapy and inclusive activities creates lasting change for both the individual and the wider community.

When opportunities and an inclusive environment are available, potential can become reality. That is why we create space where every child can learn, participate, contribute and continue to grow.

None of us walks alone.
